Midland is Safety Sponsor for NYC Swim
Kansas City, MO – Midland Radio Corporation, the leading manufacturer of All Hazards Weather Alert Radios, is pleased to provide a supply of VHF Handheld Marine Radios to the staff of NYC Swim.
Midland has enhanced the safety of NYC Swim events through a donation of marine radios that cover all marine channels, are waterproof and hands-free, and work on traditional or rechargeable batteries. Swimmer safety has always been a priority for NYC Swim. From the 1-kilometer Brooklyn Bridge Swim to the 28.5-mile MIMS, clear communication lines are an important part of the safety plan.
NYC Swim are sponsors of a unique, open-water swim series in the waters around New York City, such as the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim (a 28.5 mile full circumnavigation), in addition to other races of shorter distances, and aquathlon (swim/run) races. Approximately 3000 athletes of all abilities participate in our events from May-October, as well as 300 kayakers and 60 boat captains.
The NYC Swim provides support to the NYC Parks Department Learn-to-Swim programs, particularly those that serve at-risk youth. We are also committed to the environment. Additionally, their goal is to raise public awareness of the waters that surround New York by championing efforts to clean and protect them.
